We get in such a hurry sometimes we miss the important messages that are being revealed to us by the Sacred Spirit through his Creation, the Sky, the Earth, her Kingdoms, and all of the creatures we casually pass by and glance at everyday. We learn so much if we take the precious time to observe and to listen to our Universe. Making sense of it all is sometimes the difficult part. It does come to us, we eventually see the connections in everything and how those connections are connected to us. I write down the lessons I discover, the hard ones, the simple ones, and the "no words can explain ones" here. I am also sharing the adventures, struggles, and joys I have in learning them. It is good to have a place to share so I can look back and remind myself that, yes, there is a rhyme and a reason.
As a young one, I was always getting lost in my thoughts, startled when my name was called, and staring out the school window daydreaming of the outside world. The times I spent as a child noticing the miracles of nature around me, playing in the fields, riding horseback, and just adventuring out along the ridges and creeks of my southern farm and home still bring me joy. I am still that way today, still lost in thought. I'm the daydreamer, looking out the window of my life wanting to be outside on the trails exploring, listening, and enjoying the peace I find up on those Mountains and deep into the Forests of my Heart. My Cherokee Roots were with me then, and have now taken a firm hold of my heart. They have burrowed deeply into my spirit and my soul and anchoring themselves firmly into that sacred space. I am experiencing a new way to see things, a renewed strength and healing, and appreciating the wonder and curiosity of my inner child as I walk into the Ridges and Mountains of my life.
I know my ancestors, my Grandfathers and my Grandmothers, are with me, teaching me. They have shown me a new way to go into the Forest, to go up the Mountain. They have given me new eyes to see with. A new way to listen to the wind blow through the Pine. They have introduced me to God, the Great Holy Spirit, the one that is not kept in the confines of a religious box, the one that is not commercialized or bought. He is the One, ...as simple as the sound of the brook, and as vast as the expanse of our Universe. He is Creation. The song sung from the Beginning to the End. He is above and beyond the expanse of any imagination, and any description anyone could give. He just IS. They have shown me how his breath created the vibrations and the depths of the Circles of Eternity, and how He knows the vibration of our breath when whispered out into the Universe. They have shown me the Dance of Circles traveling in and out of Life as we know it, and the Dance of Gratitude and celebration. They have shown me the drumbeat of my heart to hear and to dance with. I am dancing and I am listening.
I hope I can bring you the joy, the healing, the life lessons as I learn them, and be able to offer you a renewed set of eyes when you walk out your door.
